About Matthias ...
Matthias founded ChangePerspective in 2020 to bring his work as a mediator and conflict professional to people. His irrepressible curiosity and desire to dance with life in all its facets give him an intensive life in the growth zone.
Matthias grows up in the canton of Zurich with one foot in the Glarus region, where as a boy he falls in love with the mountains. His parents show him the way into the wild nature and give him freedom for his adventures. In the scouts, he grows into healthy social group structures.
During his adolescence, Matthias finds vitality and freedom as a young boxer, in stories and in freestyle sports. During his studies, he writes reportages, sometimes from illegal street parties, from boxing cellars and ice walls, in the emulation of his former idol Hemingway. After extensive travel and under the impression of the Arab revolts, he goes on to study Arabic and soon travels on his own to Egypt, Iraq and Syria to write about the war. Influenced by these experiences, Matthias finds his way to the Swiss Foreign Ministry to work on international peace promotion. For the peace institute swisspeace, he then regularly visits countries such as Iraq to support peace efforts and promote local mediation capacities.
In his private life, he continues to climb ice and rock faces, dreams of lonely mountains and waves, and more quietly of his own family. As a teenager already, he would trace through deep snow and learn to love dancing on waves in the ocean. Personal crises and his training to become a mediator lead him to reflect his inner conflicts and to mindfulness work and personal development. He learns to appreciate silence and, thanks to wonderful role models, finds more and more of his authenticity. He seeks to engage deeply with life in loving relationships and experiences growth in letting go after separations and losses.
Matthias always chooses change, on the trail of his calling - and in the meantime increasingly finds his way home with himself and the mountains, forests, rivers and oceans.
